Switch from iPhone to Android?

To be or not to be. In this case, do I send my beloved iPhone off into that good night and carry on with my Verizon Droid. Here’s the story.

This morning, I was the 7th person inline several hours before the Verizon Wireless store opened. I walked out with my new Droid. At first impression, it was very solid. Feels very expensive. The screen is gorgeous. I started hammering out on the slide out keyboard, and it worked just fine. Works like a small slide out QWERTY keyboard should. I punched around the screen and typed a bit on the virtual screen. To my surprise, that worked very very well too. I would be just as happy with this identical device minus the slide out.

Back to my desk I went, with my iPhone 3GS in hand, and Droid. Time to do the basics. I added my company Exchange in about 2 minutes. That was easy. Then I went screen by screen to add applications to the Droid that I currently had installed on my iPhone. I knew there would be gaps, alas here we go.

For the time being, I’m taking a break. The little Droid has been hammered on for a few hours now, and is, as my iPhone does, getting a bit warm. I’ll let it rest and I’ll do some work. More to follow.
